The view from Manly Wharf on the ferry to Sydney.

Platypus at the Sydney Aquarium in Darling Harbour

The largest ray I've ever seen from underneath.

Our old time musician friend Lindsay Mar took this one on our trip down to Thirroul for the bluegrass jam on Saturday. The coast road was spectacular.

Here is Lindsay smiling and playing a Martin previously owned by Norman Blake.

Goof ball.

Is she a cutie or what?

The diversity of bird species in downtown Sydney was incredible for a city of millions

No, I did not try to smoke this.

Bats!

I'm not sure who this is, but it resembles the Australian Prime Minister and I think it's there for the birds to crap on.

Downtown Sydney

I'm sitting in a coffee shop in downtown Sydney, Australia, watching the black dressed business community casually walk by - it's 10 am and this seems to be rush hour. In a lot of ways, the rest of the world has the right attitude towards work. We have been in Australia since the 15th, having spent the first week in a small beach community not unlike Encinitas or Solana Beach, CA. Manly Beach is about an hour drive just north of Sydney and is another contrasting culture of surfers and wealth. Our hotel room was right on the beach and I managed to find a nice little coffee shop to spend my days waking up and working on web sites several thousand miles away. I'll have more pics up shortly.
