Tiffany journeys to Africa again

This time, she travels to the Republic of Ghana in West Africa. Wondering about Ghana? I was too, so I read a little about it.

Some of you may know this already, but she's going to Ghana on a volunteer service trip sponsored by BD and will be working in a small, clinical lab in Kumasi. Ghana has an infant mortality rate 8.5 times that of the United States. Maternal and child health will be one areas of focus for her at two clinics for three weeks.

Stay tuned as I'll post more information about her trip in the coming weeks and during her time there.

Run, don't walk...and go see this film:

This is the Sundance Award Winning Film about Lost Boys of Sudan.

If you live in the San Diego area, it is now showing at the Ken Theatre in Kensington, 4061 Adams Avenue, Kensington. Call (619) 819-0236 for times.

Every American should see this film.

Happy New Year

How's yer head feeling? I take it you made it home safe this morning of the new year. For those of you who were aware that we actually lost someone last night, Adelle was found meandering down Monroe Ave later this morning and was returned to her home - safe. :-) One of the first things Tiff said to me this morning as we were washing the 47 champagne glasses that made it into rotation was, "we should have those people over again when we're all sober...". Nah...... It sure was fun huh?

To everyone who brought food and beverages - Holly thanks you. While we were all busy partying, she was sneaking sausages from the dining room table. Ham sammich.

The fireworks show - Tiffany & I would especially like to thank Chris & Jill Cooper for comforting Holly during one of the most tramatic things she's ever been through in our backyard. Leave it to Mr. Cunningham to bring explosives to the party. Fortunately, no animals were harmed. :-)

The living room old time jam - no better way to bring in the new year than with twin fiddles, twin guitars, twin banjos, a dobro and Darren Weiss on the doghouse bass. I strummed the skin off of my index finger. Big thanks to all the pickers who hung on for dear life as Christopher (the fiddler) got warmed up...that boy has one gear. Powered by Old Potrero. Let's make this an annual thing. 2007 at the Clarke House. Bring a driver.

Happy New Year
Tiff & Chris
